Taher Elgamal

Dr. Taher Elgamal serves as the CTO, Security at Salesforce, is a Partner at Evolution Equity Partners, and is an internationally respected Information Security leader and cryptographer. He has successfully served as CISO, Chief Scientist, and CTO as well as Founder and CEO of numerous key organizations. Taher invented several industry and government standards, including the DSS government standard for digital signatures. He is recognized in the industry as the “Father of SSL,” and was the recipient of the lifetime achievement award from the RSAC Conference in 2009, the Marconi prize in 2019, and the Kuwaiti prize for Informatics in 2025. He became a Member of the National academy of Engineering in 2022.
